The Property


The main property is a 200 year old town house in the historic picturesque town of Eymet in the south west of the Dordogne region. It is close to bars, restauraunts, shops and banks, and just 5 minutes walk from Eymet's 13th century Bastide Square with its arcades, shops, restaurants and fountain. It offers high quality, well equipped self-catering accomodation, free Wi-Fi, off road parking, and use of a private garden with a 7m x 3.5m swimming pool.

The house is easy to reach, just 25 minutes from Bergerac airport. It is the perfect location to explore local Bastide towns, markets, chateaux, vineyards and rolling countryside.

From 2019 we can also offer accommodation in our new Country House just 12 mins from Eymet. This is also self-catering and has an 8 x 4m swimming pool with lovely views over rolling countryside. It can be combined with Les Volets Bleus for a two-centre stay if required. Pleas ask for details if interested.

Accommodation

The property was originally two adjacent houses now combined into one, such that we can offer a range of flexible accommodation comprising a Separate Gite/Self-catering Apartment, and the Main House with up to three Apartment Suites with their own Bathrooms, accessed from a large Kitchen/Diner that can be shared as appropriate. Each can sleep 2/3, and can also be combined for larger parties up to 6/9. Initially the new Country House offers a separate apartment with double bedroom, kitchen and shower room.

Separate Apartment

Mimosa Gite/Self Catering Apartment

  • Approx 40 m2 - ground and first floor
  • Sleeps 2+ (an extra bed can be provided if required)
  • Separate entrance to Kitchen/Diner (facilities include: dining table/chairs, halogen hob with extractor, oven, sink, fridge, washing machine, electric kettle and toaster, pots pans cutlery and glasses)
  • Bedroom 1 - Upstairs Double with King size bed (1600 wide), with wardrobe, linen, duvet and towels
  • Bedroom 2 - with optional single bed - or can be arranged as a small Lounge/Study if preferred
  • Shower room with corner shower, hand basin, electric towel rack
  • Separate WC with hand basin
  • Patio area plus shared use of garden and pool.
  • Note: this accomodation is on two floors, with a quirky Loo half way up the stairs - if you have issues due to mobility, please enquire about accommodation in the main house.
  • Access to the garden/pool is normally via a side gate.

Main House

Sunflower Suite

  • Ground floor Suite - Approx 60 m2
  • Sleeps 2+ (an extra bed can be provided in the lounge if required) or up to 6+ if combined with one or both of the additional suites described below
  • Lounge with wood burner, sofa and coffee table
  • Double bedroom with King size bed (1600 wide), wardrobe, linen, etc
  • En-suite bathroom with hand basin, WC, bidet, P-type shower/bath, heated towel rack
  • Large kitchen/diner with covered terrace leading to garden (facilities include: dining table/chairs, log burner, gas/elec cooker with oven, microwave, double sink, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric kettle and toaster, cutlery, crockery, etc).
  • Separate dining room accessible via double doors from the kitchen.
  • This accomodation has direct access to the Garden/Pool area via a door from the Kitchen/Diner.

Acanthus Suite

  • Loft conversion - Approx 25 m2
  • Double bedroom with King size bed (1600 wide), wardrobe
  • En-suite bathroom with hand basin, WC, roll top bath, towel rack

Geranium Suite

  • Loft conversion - Approx 21 m2
  • Double bedroom with King size bed (1600 wide), wardrobe

Self-catering Apartment

  • Located on the edge of a small village with lovely views of the 13th century church and rolling countryside. 6 mins from local shops, bars, restaurants.
  • Ground floor - approx. 30 m2
  • Double bedroom with King size bed (1600 wide), wardrobe
  • Ensuite shower room with hand basin, WC, walk-in shower, towel rack
  • Fully equipped kitchen/diner

  • Shared use of garden and 8 x 4m swimming pool

Flexible accommodation options - the Sunflower Suite can be combined with the Acanthus and/or Geranium Suites to cater for groups of up to 6 or more. Both extra suites are accessed via stairs from the main kitchen/diner and share the other facilities of the Sunflower Suite.

How to Get There

The house is easy to reach, just 25 minutes from Bergerac airport. Ryanair flights are available from Stanstead all year round, and from East Midlands in the summer months. It is the perfect location to explore local Bastide towns, markets, chateaux, vineyards and rolling countryside.
If you are driving in from the north on the D933, go across the river, then to a mini-roundabout on Avenue du Pont de Juillet (the main road). Carry on and you will see Les Volets Bleus, 2nd on the right just past a little garage.

Prices are in Euros for a 7 night booking. Shorter stays pro-rata, minimum 2 days. Discounts for longer stays: 2 weeks 10%, 3 weeks 15%. SPECIAL OFFERS are available - please ask!
